As Alicia tries to revive her struggling law career, attorney Lucca Quinn becomes her competition; Peter engages a new strategist for his campaign, changing the dynamic with Eli in the process.

Alicia argues a complex museum vandalism case that involves photographs taken by a mother of her son, and considers enlisting the help of investigator Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Meanwhile, Cary deals with inappropriate conduct towards some younger associates at the firm by partner Harold Lyman (Jerry Adler).

Alicia and Lucca work together on a complicated case involving a designer drug dealer. Meanwhile, Eli persuades Alicia and Veronica (Stockard Channing) to participate in a mother-daughter cooking show to help Peter's campaign, but things don't go as planned.

When Alicia agrees to support a client's plea of innocence in a shoplifting case, she clashes with the bond court judge; Diane is coerced into arguing against her own beliefs in a case about assisted suicide.

Jason uses aggressive investigative tactics while working on a student loan case with Alicia and Lucca. Howard points to Cary as the primary offender when he alleges ageism at Lockhart, Agos & Lee. Eli creates drama among the Florricks.

Alicia and Lucca defend a former technology firm employee who was fired after failing a polygraph test. Eli wants to leak information that would damage Peter's campaign---but could also impact Alicia.
