While on a springtime run, Sonic stumbles upon a Chao Garden with a problem: they've got a Chao Egg that won't hatch, and a bossy Shadow Chao intends to get the new baby Chao out, one way or another!

It's a special day for the Chao; a whole bunch of little animals have come to visit! It's time for the Chao to pick our their favorite traits and transform. But when the Shadow Chao gets a bit too greedy, they run the risk of becoming something terrifying...

To beat the heat, the Chao are dancing and making music with Sonic in the shade. The Shadow Chao wants to crash the party, but even their shenanigans can't stop this jam session!

When all the Chao in the garden decide to run a race, the Shadow Chao confidently blazes in. Will pride be enough to fuel their path to victory? Can Sonic help them learn a little humility?

As the leaves start to change, the Shadow Chao is busy training, and they've gained a fan. Will the Shadow Chao push them away, or finally begin to soften up?
