Hannah Meeks, a literary agent thriving in the city, is shocked to discover that her estranged father has passed away, leaving her five home-schooled siblings.

During their father's wake, the Meeks children hunt down Clarence the frog while Hannah deals with the responsibilities of becoming a legal guardian.

Hannah is surprised when her fiance' Michael shows up on the doorstep pushing her to make a decision about the kids. Meanwhile, Andy discovers Max, a stray dog, forcing the Meeks to have their first "family meeting."

Mateo comes to discuss the will and Hannah makes a surprising discovery; Michael shows up again with an earth-shattering question; and little Eva goes missing.

The Meeks desperately search for Eva, who is lost in the woods; Ben is sick with food poisoning; and Hannah comes to a conclusion about the kids.

Clarence disrupts the family breakfast, Prue admits to taking the missing page of the will, and Hannah reveals her decision to the kids.
